As I count down the days to my next trip to France, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions—curiosity, inspiration, and a touch of nervousness. This time around, I’m eager to experience places I’ve never been to before. There’s something magical about exploring somewhere new, capturing the essence of a place through my camera, and allowing those photos to become my own personal souvenirs. Each shot is like a keepsake, a way to hold onto the moments that make a place unforgettable.

I still remember the sense of awe I felt when visiting spots like the Louvre or the Luxembourg Gardens. Everything there feels so massive and rich with history, from the trees to the cobblestones. Maybe I’m romanticizing Paris a bit, but there’s a beauty in its layers of time, in how every corner seems to hold a story. I can’t wait to see what else this city and its surroundings have to offer—so here are the five places I’m most excited to explore on this trip:

1. Versailles: Beyond the Palace 🌿🏰

While I’ve always admired photos of Versailles’s Hall of Mirrors, I’m looking forward to experiencing it for myself—beyond just the palace. I’m excited to wander through the sprawling gardens, uncover the hidden Trianon palaces, and maybe even take a quiet stroll through the village of Versailles. There’s something about the scale and grandeur of it all that draws me in, and I can’t wait to capture the morning light playing off the ornate fountains and reflecting pools.

2. Musée Christian Dior: A Fashion Lover’s Dream 👗

My sister, a huge fashion fan, highly recommended the Musée Christian Dior to me, and I can’t wait to explore it with her. It’s a place where I can immerse myself in the history of one of fashion’s most iconic houses, surrounded by vintage gowns, accessories, and photos that span decades. I’m looking forward to seeing how the stories of fashion come to life here and capturing that blend of history and creativity through my lens. It’s a new way of seeing Paris, one that’s more intimate and artistic.

3. Musée d'Orsay: Masterpieces Along the Seine 🎨

I’ve heard so much about the Musée d'Orsay and its stunning collection, but I’ve never actually been. Housed in a beautiful old train station, this museum feels like the perfect blend of architecture and artistry. I can already picture the iconic clock windows overlooking the Seine, framing the city in a way that’s both timeless and fresh. It’s the kind of place that makes me feel like I’m stepping back in time while discovering something completely new.

4. La Petite Ceinture: A Hidden Urban Oasis in the 15th Arrondissement 🌿🚂

La Petite Ceinture, or "The Little Belt," is an old railway line that once circled Paris, now reclaimed by nature. I’ll be exploring the section in the 15th arrondissement, where parts of the railway have been turned into a peaceful walking path. It offers a mix of urban decay and greenery that’s perfect for exploring. I’m excited to find quiet corners where the wildflowers grow between the tracks, and where history and nature meet in unexpected ways. It’s a chance to see a side of Paris that’s often overlooked, and I can’t wait to capture those hidden, moody scenes.

5. Canal Saint-Martin: A Relaxed Parisian Stroll 🚶‍♀️💙

Nestled in the heart of Paris, the Canal Saint-Martin area offers a peaceful, laid-back vibe that contrasts with the city’s more bustling spots. It’s perfect for wandering along the water, finding hidden cafes, and watching boats pass through the old locks. I’m excited to explore the charming bridges, capture reflections on the canal, and soak in the local atmosphere. It’s a place that feels like a secret escape right within the city, and I can’t wait to see what stories it has to share.

Why These Places Matter to Me 🗺️

Exploring new spots is all about finding those moments of connection—whether it’s with a place, with the people around me, or even with the city itself. I’m looking forward to spontaneous conversations with locals, chatting with fellow travelers, and maybe even meeting up with a few of you for a photo shoot while I’m in town! It’s these small connections that make each trip feel like more than just a visit—they turn it into an experience that stays with you.

If you’d like to follow along on this journey, or if you’ll be in Paris during the second week of November, let’s connect! Whether you want to join me for a shoot or just chat about your favorite spots in the city, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s make some memories together in the City of Lights.
